Marc Alper, joined Alper Audi, Inc., a structural engineering firm experienced in providing consulting for architects, contractors, developers, owners, industry and government, as a Project Engineer in 1970. Today he serves as President of the firm, which was started by his father in 1951. He has served as Chairman and National Director of ACEC of Missouri. In 2010, he was elected a Fellow of ACEC. Alper earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Marc is most proud of is his family and says: I have been married for 43 years (in fact our 43rd anniversary is on 6/28, which will occur while we are in NYC), and we have three grown children. My oldest two children are married and each of them have two children, which makes me the proud grandparent of four wonderful children. My youngest son recently graduated college and is starting his career – but is currently back living at home. In my professional life I head a 20 person structural engineering firm designing a wide variety of buildings. It is a very active practice, responsible for design of many projects across the US with many hundreds of million dollars of construction value. I am very proud of the firm that we’ve grown, its staff, its projects, and the high standard of living we are able to provide for all of our employees.
In a parallel life, I am very active on many civic and charitable organizations in addition to ACEC. I have been through all of the leadership offices for ACEC Missouri and continue to be active there, plus I am very involved with the ACEC Business Insurance Trust. I thoroughly enjoy my involvement in the BIT and the friendships I’ve developed with the other trustees, Greyling, and The Hartford participants. I am exceedingly impressed with everyone’s intelligence, insight and commitment, and I am thrilled to serve with them on this board.
