Rachel Hayden is a Vice President and Regional Growth Leader at GEI. Her prior firm, Hayden Consultants, Inc., was acquired by GEI in September 2018. Rachel launched Hayden Consultants as a sole proprietor in March of 2000, working out of her dining room during the startup phase. Her goal was to provide a great place for people to work toward a common mission: to make a difference in our quality of life by designing public infrastructure with the future in mind. The company grew steadily over 18 years to a staff of over 40 employees, with a focus on transportation, water resources, transit and construction services.
Hayden Consultants was a five-time Aggie 100 honoree, which recognizes the 100 fastest growing Texas A&M Aggie-owned companies in the world, and for two years Hayden was on the Dallas 100 list of the fastest growing privately held companies in Dallas. In 2018 Hayden Consultants was ranked #29 on the list of largest North Texas engineering firms. In 2015 Rachel was awarded the national Civil Engineering Entrepreneur of the Year from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Rachel has served in leadership positions for numerous professional organizations, including Chair of ACEC Texas, President of ASCE Dallas Branch and President of ACEC Dallas Chapter. She currently serves on the Texas A&M University Civil Engineering Advisory Council and as a Trustee on the ACEC Business Insurance Trust. Rachel is passionate about leading the next generation of engineers to embrace creative problem solving through in-house design challenges and competitions.
