WHAT IS THE ACEC BIT?

Since 1983 the ACEC BIT has partnered with brokers and insurers to provide insurance programs and solutions tailored for ACEC member firms, big and small.

EPIC Construction & Design is the endorsed broker and program administrator for the ACEC BIT. EPIC Design was designed for design professionals and represents many of the ENR Top 500 and over one thousand engineering firms of varying sizes throughout the United States.

The ACEC BIT Trustees are engineers and business owners like you who work closely with EPIC Design, the ACEC BIT Program Administrator, to oversee the performance and delivery of key benefits of the Program.

HISTORY OF THE ACEC BIT

ACEC Life/Health Plan started by John O. Felker Benefit Services

EADS General Trust started by John O. Felker Benefit Services to provide retirement benefits

(May 15) ACEC P&C Program started by Steve Felker (John Felker's son). At that time, Steve worked for Lawton, Byrne & Bruner.

• Steve Felker partnered with The Hartford to be the exclusive provider to ACEC firms
• Oversight of the program was provided by a group known as The ACEC Business Insurance Committee

January 1 - Marsh purchased Lawton, Byrne & Bruner

All lines dividend started and all policies converted to an 11/1 common renewal

KVI (Kirke VanOrsdel, Inc) purchased ACEC Health &Retirement Program from John Felker

August 21 - The ACEC Business Insurance Trust (BIT) was established.

Prior to Marsh purchasing KVI, The ACEC Retirement Trust moved to Principal

Marsh purchased KVI along with the ACEC Health Program

ACEC Life Health Trust moved from Marsh to a new Administrator

Marsh began branding as the Pro Shop to introduce Professional Liability Insurance

All Lines Dividend ended and is replaced by a Royalty agreement between BIT & Hartford. The royalty was shared equally with ACEC, Member Organizations &Trust

Marsh ceased Pro Shop and began branding as ACEC Business Insurance Trust

BIT Trustees began sharing Royalty with ACEC member firm policyholders by instituting value-added programs like the Deductible Assistance Program.

BIT Trustees established the Coalition Loyalty Program

BIT Trustees launched the BIT Firm Royalty Participation Program

Approved sub-producers have access to the Hartford under the ACEC BIT Program

BIT Trustees conducted a RFP process and selected a new Program Administrator

BIT moves Program Administration of the Program to EPIC Brokers
